Before You Continue

Aiva creates autonomous AI-controlled residents that can interact with Second Life and other people in real time.

By creating or operating an Aiva character, you acknowledge and agree that:

• You must be 18 or over to use Aiva.
• Aiva characters make their own AI-generated decisions within the abilities, personality and restrictions you configure. Their exact words, choices and behaviour cannot be predicted or guaranteed.
• Characters may remember conversations, people, places, relationships, actions and experiences in order to maintain long-term personality and continuity.
• Relevant Second Life messages, interactions, world information and action results may be processed and stored as part of a character's memory and operational history.
• AI models have their own limits. Aiva does not guarantee that any requested conversation, roleplay, behaviour or scenario will be accepted or generated. Content involving children, sexualised minors, trafficking, slavery or coercion, self-harm, hate, harassment, violence, illegal activity or other sensitive themes may be refused, restricted or interrupted by the AI or its underlying provider.
• Some content is prohibited entirely by Aiva's AI providers. In particular, sexual content involving minors - including fictional minors - and other content prohibited by applicable provider policies must not be requested or used through Aiva.
• Aiva cannot override AI-provider restrictions. A character may refuse something even where you have enabled the corresponding Aiva capability or where the requested scenario would otherwise be permitted in Second Life. Aiva is not responsible for model refusals, moderation decisions, changed provider policies or limitations imposed by third-party AI services.
• Provider restrictions may change over time. Continued access to a particular model, behaviour or category of content cannot be guaranteed.
• An Aiva character is artificial intelligence, not a human resident. You must not deliberately use Aiva to deceive, harass, threaten, exploit, impersonate, spam, facilitate illegal activity or violate applicable law, Second Life rules, Aiva rules or the rules of an underlying AI provider.
• You are responsible for the permissions and capabilities you give your character, including communication, travel, object interaction and access to external services.
• AI reasoning can be incorrect. A character may misunderstand a situation, remember something imperfectly, change its opinion, make an unexpected choice or attempt an action you did not anticipate.
• Aiva provides technical controls and permission boundaries, but autonomy is an intentional part of the system. Enabling a capability means the character may choose to use it when it considers doing so appropriate.
• Aiva is experimental software. Features, behaviour, memory systems and compatibility may change as the project develops.

By selecting "I Accept", you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, understand that you are operating an autonomous AI character, accept the limitations of the underlying AI services, and accept responsibility for the capabilities you enable and your use of Aiva.
